Project required the construction of suspended decks to provide access and work patforms. Concrete water blasting, reinforcing steel tie in and formwork were constructed by 'build down' prior to 50 MPa "Super Workable' concrete being poured.
The work also required upgrading of the bridge cathodic protection system.
The unique method used to construct the suspended deck to provide safe access and a work platform over water allowed commencement of the 'build down' work method. This innovation was recognised by RTA Weipa when Goodline was awarded first place in the 2009 Health Safety Environment Innovation Award
